Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary

Bob Robinson joined BancTec in June of 2008 as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Mr. Robinson is responsible for the management and delivery of all legal services to BancTec and its subsidiaries and for the management of the human resources operation.

Robinson joined BancTec from Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (ACS), where he most recently served as Senior Vice President and Group Counsel, Corporate. At ACS, his responsibilities included managing the global corporate legal function, including U.S. and international corporate governance, intellectual property, privacy, real estate, tax, trade regulations and international legal matters.

Prior to joining ACS, he served as General Counsel, Secretary and Vice President of Business Development for Renew Data Corporation, an electronic evidence software and services company. At Renew Data Corp., Robinson managed all legal services for the company and served as the primary business development interface to legal practices and corporate legal departments.

Robinson’s experience also includes serving as Vice President and General Counsel – Americas at Vignette Corporation and as an associate at Pillsbury Madison & Sutro LLP.

A graduate of M.I.T., Robinson received his law degree from the Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley in 1994. Prior to law school, he served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy.

Robinson is an accomplished public speaker and is licensed to practise law in Texas and California. He brings extensive experience in providing superior legal counsel for a variety of companies in both the public and private sectors. His areas of expertise include commercial and technology transactions, international matters, intellectual property, corporate governance, employment and discovery.
