BancTec Continues To Make History.

Founded in 1972, BancTec began designing and manufacturing cheque sorting and related systems for the banking industry. The following year, BancTec released its initial proprietary product: the CheckMender. Since that time, we have continued to build an impressive client portfolio through our reputation for innovation, with unprecedented technical strengths in high-speed document processing, as well as imaging, image quality, data capture and character recognition technologies.

Throughout the years, BancTec has not only grown by diversifying the product line, but also by acquiring highly regarded high-tech companies. In 1980, BancTec successfully completed an IPO, listed on NASDAQ as BTEC. In 1995, a merger with Recognition International, Inc. nearly doubled BancTec’s revenue and workforce, while later that year BancTec took its position on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol BTC.

Today, BancTec is a powerhouse global solutions provider and services company, growing from a start-up operation into a profitable industry leader in a relatively short period of time.
